Today's blog is what to do in case of a flood inside your home. There are some steps to insure the progress of mitigation is met.
The first step is calling out a plumber. A plumber will identify and repair the source of the leak. It is important to get a plumber’s report from the plumber.
Next step – call SERVPRO of Hesperia/Apple Valley or SERVPRO of Barstow/Twentynine Palms to mitigate the damages. We can help identify the type of flood. The flood could be clean water from a broken pipe. It can also be a contaminated source being below the trap of a toilet or garbage disposal. These 2 types of floods are handled differently one is clean water the other is water with bacteria. A certified water mitigation company such as ours can help minimize the damages.
We use air movement, dehumidification, and removal of affected (wet) areas. This will decrease the chance of microbial growth such mold and help to get your home or business back to preloss conditions as quickly as possible.
There are a couple things that owners can do to decrease the probability of a flood. Quarterly check toilet supply lines. If you leave on a vacation or even over-night shut off main water line and identify the main shut off. Floods always seem to happen due to these circumstances.
If a flood does happen in your home or business, call SERVPRO of Hesperia/Apple Valley or SERVPRO of Barstow/Twentynine Palms to help you mitigate your damages.
