Removal of "Popcorn" Ceiling
Many of the multi-family housing units and apartment complexes that were constructed in California before lead and asbestos laws were passed are still in use today. SERVPRO of Hesperia / Apple Valley / Barstow / Twentynine Palms receives asbestos removal calls frequently. This apartment complex was one of those calls.
After scraping the “popcorn” acoustic material from the ceiling, our technicians bagged the removed material and placed it into biohazard bags (bottom left of the image) and safely removed it from the site. Materials like lead and asbestos must be carefully transported and disposed of in specific manners per EPA guidelines.
